July 25, 2017 | Forbes

NEW YORK, NY, July 25, 2017 – We are pleased to announce that Wetherby wealth managers John Mell and Jen Hicks have been honored in Forbes’ inaugural list of America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors. This new listing recognizes top advisors born in or after 1980 with a minimum of 4 years of experience who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to their firm.

Over 2,000 advisors were considered for Forbes’ America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors ranking, developed by SHOOK research. Individuals were evaluated on qualitative information – such as service models, investing process, client retention, and industry experience – and quantitative criteria, such as assets under management and revenue generated for their firms.

John Mell, who ranked 5th on the list of 500 advisors, began his career at Wetherby in 2004. As a wealth manager, shareholder and the co-director of our client service team – John is integrally involved in the firm’s operations as well as working on investment and planning issues for some of the firm’s more complex clients. Outside of Wetherby, John is a board member of Project Explorer, a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Financial Planning Association of New York and was formerly president of the UVA Club of San Francisco.

Jen Hicks, who ranked 18th on the list, joined Wetherby in 2007 and rose quickly through the ranks at our firm. Now, as wealth manager and shareholder, she advises clients on comprehensive wealth management and investment strategies. In addition, she is involved in the firm’s communications efforts which focus on creating and distributing timely investment, financial planning or related information to our clients and friends of the firm.

“Jen and John are model employees at Wetherby, and truly exemplify our firm’s values and culture” remarked Deb Wetherby, CEO and Founder. “They are strong and thoughtful leaders to their teams, and serve as role models to many of our junior employees. Both truly go above and beyond for our clients.”

Congratulations to Jen and John!
