Meet the Wetherby Team

Kate Morham, CFA, CFP®
Pronouns: she/her
Wealth Manager and Shareholder
After spending time as a ski patroller in Canada, a raft guide in Tennessee and Maine, and a volunteer English teacher in rural Costa Rica, I was finally ready to start my first “real” job – teaching math at a boarding school in southwestern Massachusetts. After four years of living in a girls’ dorm, I was ready to branch out, both professionally and geographically. My math degree helped me land a position at an investment advisory firm in Menlo Park, California, where I was drawn to working with its non-profit clients. It was a humbling experience with a totally new set of responsibilities and new location. But it eventually brought me to Wetherby – a place where the people are kind and the client-first approach is clearly and consistently applied.
EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
Kate spent four years as a math teacher at a private boarding school before moving from New England to the West Coast to launch her investment advisory career at Cambridge Associates. As a Senior Consulting Associate, she worked with institutional and private client portfolios, evaluated asset allocations and investment managers, and led the consulting associate group in the Menlo Park office. After three years, in 2014, she joined Wetherby as a Wealth Associate and after a few promotions was named Wealth Manager in January 2020. Kate works with clients to manage their investment portfolios and serve as a partner in their overall financial planning.
While passionate about investments and the capital markets, Kate finds getting to know and working alongside her clients to be the most fulfilling part of her job – in particular, she enjoys the many opportunities to help guide clients through different financial life events. Within portfolios, Kate enjoys exploring impact investments for clients interested in pursuing financial, environmental and social returns from their invested capital.
